First, Outlook.com supports the ability to create multiple email Aliases, like Yahoo Messenger previously can create many virtual nicks in a real account. These Aliases use the same Outlook account, Inbox, Contacts list and other settings. In this post we will learn how to create and use aliases to add email addresses to your account – and how to remove or delete them if you wish to, later on.
With this approach, we can log into Outlook account using the different email aliases, use the same password to send and manage email … very handy. This feature is also useful for those who want to change your email address and still retain the mail.
- Create or add Outlook Email Alias
To add a new Alias, log into your account, then click on the Mail Options link:
Click on Create an Outlook.com alias items as shown below:
Enter the password for authentication, the system will witch to Create an Alias as shown below. Enter the desired Alias before the @ sign in the box:
Once we’re done, the system will display a message asking the user to confirm whether you want to use the newly created alias as your default mailbox:
- How to use Outlook Email Alias:
After creating Aliassuccessfully, we have the option to send mail from any account, you can check when creating new mail as shown below:
In case you want to change the default email account, go to the Option > Your Email Accounts>Default “From” address.
- Remove or delete the Outlook Email Alias:
